Keynote Speaker

Ken Dyck

Ken was a broken young man who had walked away from the church and God. Feeling angry, alone and without purpose, he had turned to work, alcohol, parties and success to fill the void in his heart. Alone one night, Ken gave his life to Jesus with a two-word prayer: "Take it!" Shortly thereafter he married Bonnie and they became youth leaders in their local church.

In 2003, following a season of significant church growth in which people were seeking help to live free of disappointments, unhealthy habits and pain, Ken wrote Freedom Session. When other churches asked to use his materials, Freedom Session was published in 2005. In 2009, he and Bonnie founded Freedom Session International Ministries.

Ken has been a pastor for more than 30 years, most recently as Executive Pastor over Sites and Discipleship at Village Church. In January, 2021, Ken returned his full-time attention to Freedom Session International. In Canada and the USA, Freedom Session is used to help SHOW HOW to live in the freedom and healing Jesus promises.

Trevor Meier

Trevor Meier

Trevor and his wife Melanie have a deep love for people and God’s presence. They have ministered together in a wide variety of church leadership roles for the past 27 years. A unique experience with God in 1996 forever changed the way they looked at ministry when, having tasted and walked in the supernatural presence of God, the ordinary was wrecked forever.

Trevor and Melanie have three children, Janelle, Sarah, and Carter. They serve as Apostolic leaders at The Church at South Edmonton. They also run On the Edge of Time Ministries, planting churches and spreading revival fire throughout Canada and around the world.

Bev

Beverly Fawcett

Beverly has been having the time of her life in ministry and marriage with her best friend Derek, four incredible children and a beautiful crew of grandchildren. God set her on the path of ministry the moment she gave her heart to the Lord at thirty years old, giving her a passion to see all of Canada saved. Beverly was an elder at McMurray Gospel Assembly in Fort Murray for two terms before the senior pastor baton was passed to her by Pastor Glen Forsberg. She is also the founder and president of a non-profit organization, Hope In Christ Ministries, that is dedicated to reaching out to the community practically and spiritually. She has a ministry of encouragement and hope for people. She is uncompromising on God’s Word and her preaching and prayer ministry leads people to an expression of faith in God’s power to declare the promise of change in their lives.

Beverly is a FCA Elder with the role of Chair for FCA Missions. She has a passion for the lost and sees every soul through a mother’s heart wanting to bring the family closer together, to be connected all over the globe. Workshop Speakers

Peter V

Peter Visscher

Peter was raised on a dairy farm north of Morinville, Alberta, but neither cows nor crops would prove to be his passion. As a teenager, Peter felt a strong call toward ministry. This led to enrolling in a discipleship school at The Father’s House Christian Fellowship in Morinville, completing a theology degree at Vanguard College in Edmonton, and eventually full-time pastoral ministry. Peter has served alongside Pastor Greg Fraser in Morinville since graduating high school in 2006.

What began as setting out chairs before Sunday services led to years of experience with youth, worship, administration, church management, and equipping and discipleship ministries.

Peter met his wife, Chantal, while on the youth leadership team. They have been married for 11 years and have five children (three girls and two boys). Peter attended his first FCA Convention in 2007. He loves the vision and values of the FCA and is eager to see its churches grow and thrive into the future.

Workshop: At Your Best

Many leaders live at an unsustainable pace—working regular overtime at the office while still taking unfinished sermons, unanswered emails, and unresolved problems home on weekends. Add a few years to those patterns and personal health, relational well-being, and ministry effectiveness takes a hit. What does it look like to thrive at work and at home? Referencing content and tools from author and podcaster, Carey Nieuwhof, Peter will share personal experiences of struggling with life-balance and practical solutions for living at your best.

Workshop: Resurgence - How Do I See My Ministry Rise Again?

We live in unparalleled times of leading. We have seen church and ministry engagement decline. There have been great efforts to grow ministry through programs and ideas in the past. But what if we followed the Acts model? What if we as leaders could bring people to an authentic encounter with Holy Spirit? What if that encounter would result in new people coming to know Jesus? This workshop will look at how practically our ministries can be revitalized by the power of the Holy Spirit and increase our evangelistic impact in our cities.
It is time for the Church to arise!

Greg Newman

Greg Newman

Greg Newman currently serves as Lead Pastor of Wetaskiwin Full Gospel Fellowship. Originally from Newfoundland, Greg and his family moved to Wetaskiwin, Alberta in 2004 to come on staff as a youth pastor.

In 2007, as he was just about to turn 26 years old, Greg moved into the Lead Pastor position and has served there for nearly 15 years. Though inexperienced and definitely in over his head, Greg went from being the youngest lead pastor in his churches history to the longest serving pastor in his churches history.

During this time Greg served as regional coordinator for the Northern Alberta(780) region of the FCA from 2011 to 2016. Greg is married to Sharlene, and together they have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. In his free time, Greg loves playing golf and watching his boys play soccer.

Workshop: Lessons from a Terrible Leader

Perhaps you have heard the quote, "God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called." The church is full of very talented and capable individuals, but the honest truth is not every pastor is a natural-born leader! Come listen to Greg’s story of unlikely leadership as he shares lessons he learned about navigating some of the common relational hurdles in pastoral ministry. We will discuss such topics as managing unrealistic and unhealthy expectations, bridging generational divides, overcoming personality conflict, restoring trust and building complementary teams.
